Interesting characters are the backbone of any gacha game and Wuthering Waves certainly isn’t falling behind in that department. There are plenty of awesome-looking units on both the personality and power sides of the equation: no matter what you’re into, there’s likely a 4-star or 5-star looking to earn a spot on your team during Version 1.0. Whether you’re looking to secure the game’s most meta units at the gate or are hoping to pull your favourite Resonator early, rerolling your Wuthering Wavesaccount may be something you’re interested in.
In gacha game circles, rerolling is where you reset or start a new account at the start of a game’s life cycle so that you can specific characters early, usually bypassing the low banner rates in the process. ForWuthering Waves, this process is quite strenuous and will require a lot of work (and time) to do correctly. If you’re still in the mood to grind your Astrite and Tides for hours on end, we’re here to help.
Here’s how to reroll inWuthering Waves, as well as what standard 5-star characters you should be on the lookout for when rerolling.

How to Reroll in Wuthering Waves
Before we go any further, you need to know that rerolling inWuthering Wavesis going to be a pretty miserable experience.
The primary obstacle standing between you and an easy reroll forWuthering Wavesis the email requirement. Unlike some other gacha games,Wuthering Wavesdoesn’t have a Guest system, meaning that youneedto log in with an email to even open the game. As such, if you want to reroll, you’ll need to create a new account with a new email for every single reroll. You can log in with another account, such as Google, and skip making a Kuro Games account but that still means that you need to make multiple email accounts.
Furthermore, you also need to be aware of the time commitment. Even if you perform the quickest method of rerolling, you’re only going to be able to do one, maybe two, account rerolls per hour (and that’s if you’re booking it and skipping as much story as you can). With 5-star rates as low as they are (0.8%), that means you’ll be switching accounts a lot with little to show for it.
However, if you are still undeterred and are committed to getting an early Jiyan, Verina or Calcharo, here are the steps for rerolling your account in Wuthering Waves:
- Open the Wuthering Waves launcher or app.
- Log in with a new email account.
- Play through the opening segment of the game until you unlock access to Convenes, which should take about 30 to 45 minutes.
- Spend your Astrite and Tides on whatever banner you want.
- If you don’t get lucky or don’t get the character you want, exit the game and log out of your account on the launcher.
- Log back in with a new account and repeat steps 3 to 5.
- Rinse and repeat this process until you get your desired account or grow sick of rerolling.

How Many Pulls Can You Get?
Now that you know how to reroll inWuthering Waves, let’s go over what you should be rerolling on. To start, we’ll have a look at what you’ll be working with in terms of rewards. Unlocking Convenes will take roughly 30 to 45 minutes in Wuthering Waves, during which time you’ll be acquiring small amounts of Astrite, the gacha currency. In addition, upon unlocking Convenes, you’ll also unlock the mailbox which will deliver any Pre-Registration or alternative rewards to players.
The main rewards you’ll be relying on for your rerolls will be the following:
- Pre-Registration Rewards: 20 Lustrous Tides and 200 Astrite
- 1.0 Livestream Reward: 10 Lustrous Tides on May 24th and 10 Radiant Tides on May 25th, both sent to the mailbox
- Any Astrite you acquire from the early game (only spend if you’re pulling on the limited banners)
If you’re willing to push yourself a bit further, you can also obtain an additional 10 Lustrous Tide by reaching Union Level 15 (5 Tides at Union Level 5 and then 5 more at Union Level 15). This will take a bit more time – likely about an hour or two to just reach UL 5 – but it will give you a few more pulls to do. Do note that there are additional ways of obtaining Lustrous Tide and Astrite, such as the Gifts of Thawing Frost login campaign or the Union Level rewards, but they won’t be considered here as they take far longer to obtain and won’t be viable for most people doing rerolls.

Banner Types in Wuthering Waves
So, what can you spend these pulls on?In total, there are four main banners available at any one time inWuthering Waves:
- Limited Convene | Rate-Up for Limited 5-star Resonators, uses Radiant Tides or Astrite
- Limited Weapon Convene | Rate-Up for Limited 5-star Weapons, uses Forging Tides or Astrite
- Character Permanent Convene | Standard Banner for Resonators, uses Lustrous Tides or Astrite
- Weapon Permanent Convene | Standard Banner for Weapons, uses Lustrous Tides of Astrite
However, during the early portion ofWuthering Waves, two other banners will be available to pull on with either Astrite or Lustrous Tides. Those are the Novice Convene and the Beginner’s Choice Convene.
The Novice Convene can be likened to the Deprature Warp fromHonkai: Star Railor other similar beginner banners in other gacha games. In essence, this is a discounted banner where you are guaranteed a random standard 5-star Resonator within the banner’s 50 Pity. You do have a slim chance of obtaining a 5-star Resonator before those 50 pulls are spent.
Once you’ve used up all the 50 pulls on the Novice Convene, it will disappear and, in its place, the Beginner’s Choice Convene will become available. On this banner, you will choose one of the five standard 5-star Resonators as your target, at which point you’re guaranteed to obtain them upon reaching 80 pulls on the Beginner’s Choice Convene. Similar to the Novice Convene, you can get other 5-stars before reaching 80 pity. This banner will also disappear once you’ve reached that point.
Novice Convene
Quickest Reroll Method
If speed is the aim of your rerolling game, you’ll want to reroll after dumping your initial set of pulls on your banner of choice. This means resetting after using up all 20 to 30 of your Lustrous Tides, your 10 Radiant Tides, and all of your available Astrite.
As we mentioned above, unlocking access to Convenes will take roughly 30 to 45 minutes, meaning that you’re looking at about one account reset per hour with this method (and yes, that is the quickest method). Your main goal here is just to get a 5-star within those pulls: whether that’s on the Character Permanent Convene or the Limited Convene is up to your preference, but getting a 5-star is the goal.
The primary downside to this method is just how taxing it is. The odds for a 5-star on both banners are extremely low – 0.8% to be specific – so you’ll likely be rerolling for quite some time, no matter if you’re doing a Limited or Standard rerolling experience. However, if you want to start the game with Jiyan or a multitude of standard 5-stars, this is the path you’ll need to walk.
Highest Value Reroll Method
The other main method of rerolling requires a lot more effort and time for a slightly higher chance of getting an early unit. Instead of resetting after dumping all of your initial pulls, you’ll want to continue playing until you reach Union Level 5. Compared to the quick method, this will take significantly longer – upwards of 2 to 3 hours – so plan accordingly.
At Union Level 5, you’ll get another 5 Lustrous Tides as well as 200 Astrite. Then, if you’re willing to push it even further, at Union Level 15, you’ll get another 5 Lustrous Tides and 400 Astrite. Alongside any other Astrite you happen to get from exploring the world and opening chests in this time, you should have enough to reach pity on the Novice Convene, guaranteeing a random standard 5-star.
This method is for players who want a specific standard unit and don’t want to wait until the 80-pity character selector on the Beginner’s Choice Convene. If you’re looking to get as many 5-stars as possible, go with the quick method, instead: if you’re looking for Encore or Verina early and want to save that guarantee for someone else, the high-value method is going to be your friend.
Calcharo, Electro Broadblade DPS
Standard Rerolling vs Limited Rerolling
Finally, on the topic of rerolling methods and how many pulls you’ll likely obtain, we have to quickly go over the difference between Standard Rerolling and Limited Rolling. Standard Rerolling refers to rerolling your account in hopes of obtaining multiple standard banner 5-star Resonators – namely Encore, Verina, Calcharo, Jianxin, and Lingyang – whereas Limited Rerolling involves resetting to get better odds at the Limited Resonater banner which, as of 1.0’s launch, will be for Jiyan.
When it comes to Standard Rerolling, you have a bit of leeway. Not only will you have access to more pulls than if you’re rerolling for a limited unit but you’ll also have far more opportunities to get the characters you want. The Novice Convene will remain available until you roll all 50 of its available pulls, allowing you to spend the free 30 Lustrous Tides you get on the Character Permanent Convene: if you get lucky enough to roll a 5-star within those 30 pulls, you’ll still have the guarantee on both on Novice and Beginner’s Choice Convenes, allowing you to start Wuthering Waves with up to 3 standard 5-stars.
If you’re looking to snag as many Standard 5-stars as possible via rerolling, your experience is going to look like this:
- Create a new account and log in to the Wuthering Waves launcher.
- Play through the tutorial until you unlock access to Convenes.
- Accept the 10 Lustrous Tides from your mailbox if you’re playing past May 24th.
- Put everything you have into the Character Permanent Convene and hope that you get an early 5-star within those 20 or 30 pulls.
- If you do, continue playing and you’ll get another random Standard 5-star once you hit the hard 50 Pity on Novice Convene.
- If you don’t, log out, create a new account, and go through the tutorial again.
- Rinse and repeat until you get the character you want or you get an early 5-star.
Permanent Character Convene
On the other hand, if you’re looking to reroll for the limited 5-stars inWuthering Waves such as Jiyan or Yinlin, you’re going to have a much trickier time. This is because you’ll have a much lower amount of pulls to work with, forcing you to reroll more often and with far lower rates.
As such, if you’re looking to reroll on the Limited Convenes, we highly recommend waiting until May 25th to do so as that’s when you’ll be able to accept the 10 Radiant Tides reward from your mailbox. As such, if you hold off rerolling until then, you’ll have upwards of 20 pulls to do on Jiyan’s Convene by the time you unlock the gacha system, greatly increasing your chance of unlocking Jiyan (or any other limited unit) early.
In this scenario, your pull situation will look like this:
- Create a new account and log in to the Wuthering Waves launcher.
- Play through the tutorial until you unlock access to Convenes (about 30 to 45 minutes).
- Accept your 10 Radiant Tides from the mailbox if you’re playing past May 25th.
- Put everything into the Limited Convene, including your 10 Radiant Tides, for about 10-20 limited pulls.
- If you fail to get the limited 5-star within those 20 pulls, log out, create a new account, and go through the tutorial again.
- Rinse and repeat until you get a lucky early Jiyan or simply lose the will to keep going.
If you happen to get Jiyan early, you can then go back to pulling on the Novice Coneven for a second early 5-star, allowing you to begin your journey with a full squad of 5-star units.

Best Characters to Reroll For in Wuthering Waves
Lastly, let’s go over who you should be targeting on your rerolls. Below, you’ll find a tier list containing the five standard banner 5-stars – Encore, Verina, Calcharo, Jianxin, and Lingyang – as well as Jiyan, the first limited unit inWuthering Waves. They have been ranked in order of importance and priority when it comes to rerolling.
If you already have a favourite Resonator in mind and are determined to pull for them no matter what, you can ignore this part of the guide: this tier list is intended as a way to help indecisive or meta-driven players find the units that are right for them. As an action-heavy game where dodging and parrying do a lot of the heavy lifting, your personal player skill will be the main factor determining whether you come out of an encounter unscathed.
Where a unit ranks on the tier list isn’t just down to how strong that unit is, with other factors such as ease of use or how viable they’ll be in the long run dictating the ranking. In general, all characters on this tier list, and all characters inWuthering Waves, can be played effectively at a high level with the right investment, no matter how high or how low they rank. However, when it comes to rerolling, two units stand tall above the rest and they are Jiyan and Verina.
A Tier Best units to reroll for due to their high power, versatility, or value | Jiyan, Verina |
B Tier Powerful DPS or Sub DPS units that have a lot of potential | Calcharo, Encore |
C Tier They are good units but a bit more situational or niche than their counterparts | Lingyang, Jianxin |
Reroll Tier List
Jiyan
Jiyan is the first limited 5-star inWuthering Wavesand his banner is going to run from May 23rd whenWuthering Wavesreleases to June 13th, which is when Yinlin’s banner starts. For all those looking for a strong and reliable main DPS to carry them through the early portions of the game, and beyond, Jiyan is the unit you’ll want to roll for.
The brunt of Jiyan’s damage is going to come from his Resonance Liberation (Ultimate) as it causes him to enter the Qingloong state, changing his Normal and Heavy Attacks to the Lance of Qingloong, a devastating combo which deals a massive amount of AoE Aero DMG. Jiyan also has additional ways of increasing his damage output such as his Passives and Intro Skill. Simply put, Jiyan is a powerhouse whose high AoE DMG will sweep across the battlefield and lay waste to any who get in his way.
Depending on howWuthering Wavesdecides to approach power creep, Jiyan’s position in the long term is a bit nebulous: as a 1.0 DPS, he is going to be the first in line for power creep when compared to supports or even Sub DPS character. However,WuWacould also take theGenshin Impactapproach where 1.0 characters are still some of the best in the entire game, we honestly don’t know. As of 1.0, though, Jiyan is going to be one of the strongest units in the whole game, especially if you manage to grab his signature Broadblade (which you’re practically guaranteed to get if you are lucky enough to grab him in on an early reroll).
Jiyan, Aero Broadblade Main DPS
Verina
If meta and sustainability are your main priorities for rerolling in Wuthering Waves, Verina has the highest pull value as of Version 1.0. Firstly, she’s one of the only Spectro characters in the game alongside base Rover and she’s also the only support role unit out of the pool of standard 5-stars.
Verina is capable of taking on multiple roles during combat, but her main position is going to be as a healer support. Her Resonance Liberation marks enemies with a Photosynthesis Mark, allowing Verina to deal additional Spectro DMG in a coordinated attack and heal all allies whenever the on-field units attack a marked target. Additionally, Verina also has other ways of healing, such as with her Heavy Attack, and her Outro Skill will buff all allies ATK, making her a great gateway unit for your main DPS.
AsWuthering Waves only 5-star support in Version 1.0, Verina will likely see more competition in subsequent version updates as Kuro tries to fill out the roster. However, she will certainly do more than enough to support and buff your team long into the future if you’re able to pull her in 1.0, making her a much safer and more reliable reroll target than any other standard banner unit. This is especially true if you can snipe her early, allowing you to pick up a sub-DPS and a main DPS 5-star with you’re Novice and Beginner’s Choice rolls, letting you beginWuthering Waveswith a complete team of powerful units.
Verina, Spectro Rectifier Support
That was everything you needed to know about how to reroll inWuthering Waves.
