6 &nbsp &nbspPerform EBPV actuator operation test:
· Ensure air tanks have at least 621 kPa (90 psi) of pressure.
Key ON.
· Using PC with engine diagnostic software, go to Tests-KOEO Tests-Actuator Test-Select Exhaust Back Pressure Valve.
· Command EBPV to 5% through 95% duty cycle while watching air cylinder actuator movement (95% fully extends the air cylinder shaft and closes the valve) .(3)
Refer to Illustration 1. &nbsp &nbsp
Yes: EBPV and ACV are working properly. An intermittent condition may exist or prior instructions were not followed. &nbsp &nbsp
No: Go to Step 7, Table 9
Does EBPV actuator move freely throughout its travel with no restrictions

7 &nbsp &nbspPerform EBPV actuator operation test (air system) :
· Remove air line from EBPC at the air cylinder connection.
· Using PC with engine diagnostic software, go to Tests-KOEO Tests-Actuator Test-Select Exhaust Back Pressure Valve.
· Command EBPV to 95%. &nbsp &nbsp
Yes: Check for failed air cylinder or stuck/seized EBPV. Replace if necessary. &nbsp &nbsp
Does air flow out of the disconnected air line? No: Go to Step 8, Table 10. &nbsp &nbsp

8 &nbsp &nbspPerform EBPV actuator operation test (air supply) :
· Ensure air tanks have at least
621 kPa (90 psi) of pressure.
· Loosen air supply line to ACV and verify if air escapes. &nbsp &nbsp
Yes: ACV has failed. &nbsp &nbsp
Does pressurized air escape? No: Correct no air condition. &nbsp &nbsp

FAQs

Where is the pressure sensor on the tc1 turbine outlet? ›

The Turbocharger 1 Turbine Outlet Pressure sensor is part of the ACV Air Control Valve. The ACV also controls the backpressure valve and is located on the right side rear of engine, above the exhaust manifold.

Where is the TC1TOP sensor located? ›

Actually, This sensor location on this model year is built into the air control valve mounted near the upper turbo. This measures the outlet pressure. I would also make sure the back pressure valve is not stuck closed. There is one attached.

What is a TC1TOP sensor? ›

- The Turbocharger 1 Turbine Outlet Pressure, or TC1TOP, sensor is located on the sensing tube connected to the turbine outlet of the Low-Pressure (LP) Turbocharger.

Can you drive with a bad exhaust pressure sensor? ›

Don't Ignore Exhaust Pressure Sensor Problems

If you observe any of the symptoms above, quickly bring your vehicle to our expert mechanics for repairs. Driving your Mercedes-Benz with these symptoms is very risky and could lead to more costly engine repairs in the future, which are avoidable if you catch it early.

Can an exhaust pressure sensor be cleaned? ›

Unplug the sensor and clean it thoroughly to remove any potential grease deposits that could affect its operation.

Where is the NTC sensor located? ›

The sensor is located at the front of the machine under the filter. To access this, simply open up the condenser door and undo the two screws, you can then remove the grill you will then have the sensor in view.

Where is the outdoor air temp sensor located? ›

Usually, the outdoor sensor is located on the facade of a building. It is an inconspicuous small box. A component contained in the core of the outdoor sensor measures the outdoor temperature, similar to a thermostat, and transmits the collected data to the heating control unit.

Where is the magnetic pickup sensor located? ›

It is normally installed into the flywheel housing of an internal combustion engine, so that the starter ring gear acts upon it to generate a voltage pulse each time a gear tooth passes the end of the sensor.

What is a sonde sensor? ›

Detailed Description. Multiparameter sonde used to measure water temperature and specific conductance at each Telemetry Gage location. The sonde is hard-wired into the gage and provides real-time timeseries data.

What is a bipolar sensor? ›

Bipolar sensor ICs sensors detect the magnetic field from a permanent magnet or electromagnet and respond to alternating poles (North and South).

What is the difference between MAP sensor and Baro sensor? ›

atikovi. clinebarger said: The Baro is a 1 BAR pressure sensor & the MAP is a 3 BAR pressure sensor which can read @ 3 times atmospheric pressure, 300 KPa, Or 43.5 PSI. Thanks that makes sense.

Where is the turbine discharge pressure indicator sensor located? ›

Final answer: The turbine discharge pressure indicator sensor in a turbine engine is located at the exit of the turbine section. It monitors the pressure of the gas leaving the turbine and converts this data into an electrical signal that can be interpreted by the engine controller.

Where is the pressure sensor located? ›

The tire pressure sensor is typically found within the tire itself, mounted on the wheel assembly. These sensors relay crucial information to the vehicle's computer, triggering the tire pressure sensor light when a discrepancy is detected.

Where is the turbine sensor? ›

In most vehicles, the input/turbine speed sensor B is located at the bell housing. Some are secured with a bolt or stud, while others are directly threaded into the transmission case. In most vehicles, the input/turbine speed sensor B is located at the bell housing.

Where is the regulator pressure sensor located? ›

A: The fuel regulator or fuel pressure regulator is usually at one end of the fuel rail, below or close to the intake manifold, or part of the in-tank fuel pump on returnless fuel systems. If there's just one line feeding the fuel rail, the fuel pressure regulator is in the fuel tank as part of the pump.
